Nando’s launches new burger created by Nandoca

  • Ilonafrom Nando’s South Aylesford restaurant in Kent wowed judges in the very first Nandoca Burger competition
  • The bold, flavour-packed creation uses Mango & Lime PERi-Chutney and has launched on menus across the UK & IRE

Last year, nearly 100 Nandocas (the name Nando’s gives to all its employees) got creative in Nando’s very first Nandoca Burger Competition, and one burger stole the show. Ilona from Nando’s South Aylesford in Kent wowed the judges with her bold, flavour-packed creation.

 

The Nandoca Burger features a grilled chicken breast, melted cheddar, Rainbow SlawHerby PicklesChurrascoPERinaise, and Mango & LimePERi-Chutney. Sweet, tangy, crunchy, and fiery all at once, it’s a winning combination.

 

The judges particularly loved Ilona’s PERi-Chutney recipe, made with fresh mango, and chillies her mum had grown in the garden using the seeds of Nando’s very own African Birdseye chilli. Speaking ahead of the launch Ilona said: “I didn’t expect to win when I entered the competition, but now my creation is going to be in every Nando’s restaurant in the UK! I’m so excited for everyone to try it!”

 

The competition is what makes Nando’s, Nando’s, giving Nandocas the chance to get creative, take risks, and share their own ideas with the whole country.
